North Wales Bluegrass Festival

The 20th International Bluegrass Music and Dance Festival, known as "the festival of friends" is being held on the 4th-6th July 2008.

The event will be featuring sThe Special Concensusome top bands from the US, UK, and Europe. including The Special Concensus (USA), Bononia Grass (Italy), Tennessee Hob (USA), Brian Golbey, Britannia Band, Chris Moreton, The Crocker Brothers, The Morris Boys, The Down County Boys, The Duffy Brothers, Highly Strung, New Essex Bluegrass Band, Papa Truck, plus some surprises! The Appalachian Dance Groups this year will include:  Mind the Step, Kickin’ Alice, and Raise the Dust.

Performances, Concerts and Dances will take place simultaneously in all venues. Covered areas are provided for picking sessions in two marquees. There will be workshops for all bluegrass instruments, which will be available to weekend ticket holders (only).

Bluegrass By The Lake Picking Weekend

A new picking weekend in Wales is being held June 20-22 at the Llangorse Lake Caravan Park near Llangorse, Breconshire. There aren't any concerts planned for this year, but it’s a great opportunity for meeting friends old and and new for a weekend of bluegrass jamming and fun. Admission to the event is free. The park has facilities for caravans and campers at very reasonable rates. Contact the caravan park for booking details.
